Smile-A-Wish
Smile-A-Wish is an annual charitable initiative which traces its roots back to 2009. The initiative comprises multiple phases and is organised by students from the Business Studies Club.
Smile-A-Wish consists of both internal events held within Temasek Polytechnic's campus as well as external events held at popular hangout spots around Singapore. These events are planned by a main committee of 12 first-year Business students guided by their second and third-year mentors whilst being overseen by an adult advisor.
These main committee members work closely together to organise events as well as lead their sub-committee members by example during the execution of activities. An event is impossible without the help of sub-committee members who share the same zeal in lending a helping hand for charity.
It is hoped that through this initiative, the students of Temasek Polytechnic will develop a deeper sense of compassion as well as empathy for the underprivileged in our society. This is also a good platform for those with a keen interest in social entrepreneurship to kick start their ambitions with first-hand experience.
